Absolutely and of course it's everyone's own choice

I was was just commenting on the blatant lies, and the misinformation in the media that would have clearly skewed people's thinking during the election.

Because if they bothered doing some non "Murdoch" research, they would see that a) There is no budget emergency, b) Abbott has doubled our debt in 6 months and c) countries which invest in their people work far better than those that don't and d) this budget only targets the most vulnerable, no one else - it is ludicrous and if someone is ok with that they either believe the Liberal propaganda or they have no empathy for others.

    Not all opinions are equal.

Australia's debt is currently at 12% of GDP.

Canada's debt is currently 35% of GDP.

UK's debt is currently 88% of GDP.

Japan's debt is currently 130% of GDP.

Now tell me again how we have a debt emergency!

Exactly! And when one of the liberals was questioned about this on the project his response is but other countries are repaying their dents faster than us. Like really? What a lame excuse. They are treating us with contempt.

Thats interesting to know. Is our debt expected to grow crazy quick at some point? Politics isnt my thing so I hope that makes sense.

I agree just because someone disagree with me doesn't make them uneducated or ignorant. I think calling people that weakens the cause.

I hate this budget with everything within me. But I can't see how calling people names helps them see my side of things. In fact it hardens their stance in most cases.

Can someone link me to a reputable source for info like the above? I am having a hard time articulating why I dislike the current government and the budget whilst in conversation with my in-laws!

I actually heard it I a very right wing sydney radio station.

Andrew bolt's retort was that we can't keep on spending at current levels.
