You're correct! I don't smoke nor drink alcohol. His choice of words were very poor.

Yes, but he can't help himself, his true thoughts just spill out, as has happened so many times before. I like it when he fu.cks up like this, because it only proves further what a twit he is. An obvious jack a.ss.

He makes Amanda vanstone's reference to a milkshake and a sandwich a few years ago look positively enlightened!

That's the thing about these bozos; it actually makes me miss some of the former liberal politicians who at least had a semblance of a clue (compared to the current ones).

I was talking with my mum last night and she pulled a Joe Hockey:

Mum: "what do you think of the budget?"
Me: "not too happy with it, especially no newstart for 6 months for those under 30"
Mum: "but young kids these days need to work instead of sitting on their @rse"
Me: "Whaat? What makes an under 30 year old any more or less of a bludger? What if a 27 year old mum of 2 kids is working, her husband can't because he is I'll, then her employer goes broke and everyone looses their jobs. What is she supposed to do then for 6 months?"

I'm not sure my example is factually correct however at least it shut mum up.

Agreed! I'm a single mother so apparently I budget for smokes and alcohol. Only problem is that I don't smoke or drink. I'm so sick of them basing their politics on the idea that poor people are a drug/smoke addicted blight on society. And that our country's financial woes stem from laziness of it's people as if there are jobs waiting for us all including the disabled and people between the ages of 60-70 now. ****ing seriously? This government is incredibly ignorant and mean spirited.

What a ridiculous generalisation. Did anyone else see the psychiatrist view on Abbott, Pyne and Hockey? Basically that she suspects they all have a personality disorder and that Abbot ticks all the boxes for psychopathy. Of course she can't diagnose, but when she laid out all the things you need to check in order for a diagnosis with examples of what he has said or done over the years. It doesn't seem like the most unlikely thing to be honest. There was a heap of examples regarding the lack of empathy - shocking right?

Let's have some perspective about the costs of taking care of our health, and is a parent really going to deny their sick child a visit to the doctor which would be the equivalent payment of a couple of beers or one third of a packet of cigarettes?”

Emporer Hui of Jin (249-307), when told there was a rice shortage and the peasents where hungry asked "Well, why don't they eat meat..."

(Marie Antoinette never said "Well let them eat cake")but the gist is the same; - wealthy politicians compleatly out of step with the populace and believing that everyone who's poverty striken is in a situation of their own making.

I truely hope anyone who voted Abbott won't do so ever again. Our politics is being reported world wide in the developed countries, and we are a laughing stock. We have the most enviable financial position and we are treating the most vunerable of our society like second class citizens.

Let all bear in mind that a society is judged not so much by the standards attained by its more affluent and privileged members as by the quality of life which it is able to assure for its weakest members.
    ~H.E. Javier Perez de Cuellar

The moral test of a government is how it treats those who are at the dawn of life, the children; those who are in the twilight of life, the aged; and those who are in the shadow of life, the sick and the needy, and the handicapped.
    ~Hubert Humphrey
