A lot of people don't qualify for a personal loan though. Did you know kids are considered a liability when assessing loans and the more you have the less your chances are of getting a loan. At least HECs doesn't care about kids!

I really don't understand why you would enter a thread like this which is obviously emotionally charged and say I heart the tones and then refuse to engage any further when you are questioned as to why.

Either stand by your man or just ignore this thread altogether.

Sorry, not trying to sound snarky but I keep seeing this sort of behaviour in this thread ie

Poster: I LOVE TA and this budget.
Other: Why? What about x,y and z
    Poster: I DON"T HAVE TO PROVE MYSELF111!!!11
I blame it on the numerous numbers at the end of a username.

It never ends well when that happens

Didn't they just get a 46,000 pay increase as well?

I don't want to be mean but I am pretty sure you don't fully comprehend economics.

And that the issue here. Governments are playing on fear and people are just to happy to stay uneducated on these matters.

If you have a big business, a small business, a trust fund, a good "creative" accountant, then you'll be fine and this budget won't impact you.

Most other cases will feel the blow, just give it more weeks or months.

Does this new budget impact on anyone's family planning? dh and I always wanted 3 kids... But I want them all to be able to go to university and I feel like it will be SO expensive when the time comes.. Maybe we are better off sticking with the two we have

Because 4 years ago when we scraped a deposit for our house after living with my in laws, we were doing OK budget wise. Fast forward 4 years and every.single.payment. we have has gone up but our wages have stayed the same. We are slowly sinking and we don't do anything. No extras, no eating out, no vacations and no savings. If we lost our FTB it would truly **** us. Even though we don't get a lot, every cent is accounted for. With Australia's ridiculous cost of living and inflated prices on anything, $100,000 is not a lot of money. I truly feel for people who are worse off than us but we still need it.

I don't even cut 20k a year, so I'm a bit flabbergasted at this, I'm sure you've prob got house stuff, car, kids other costs that you've acquired over time as you've squeezed life to suit your finances. If you need some tips on how do squander, I can help out.... For a small fee.... kidding.

Ahh yeah let's see how this cookie crumbles, ill be interested to see what comes from medical research.. Biggest in the world... What exactly are they researching? Isn't the cancer industry already worth billions? How many cures are there? Why cut 50b off the very industry they are trying to 'help' through research? All a bit suss. Sickening. And well, I guess people will have to work to 70 so they can support their adult children who can't find jobs and are too poor to get an education. Smart move. But not to worry, as school chaplains have received millions, which is just as well, as they will be able to help families through their emotionally and financially crippling circumstances..... By giving them some of that money maybe??? Mehhhhhhhh.
