I'm so disgusted, angry and just sad. So many things wrong with this budget I don't even know where to begin

Yes and Tony Abbott managed to double that debt so far in his term..we use to live in caves but that's not a good reason to still live in caves

    When ftb part b stops

    This change applies automatically to:

new Family Tax Benefit Part B customers who become eligible from 1 July 2015.
existing Family Tax Benefit Part B customers (that is, those already in receipt of payments prior to 1 July 2015) from 1 July 2017.

So if you are in receipt of ftb part b and your child is over 6 before 1 july 2015 it wont stop until 1 july 2017. If you apply after 1 july 2015 and your child is over 6 you wont get it.

The 150,000 limit decreases to 100,000 1 july 2015 for everyone new old or otherwise.

Thats for when it stops due to age, not income over 100k

Crossed wires, I hadnt looked at the age part cos my youngest doesnt turn 6 for over 5 years.

I wasn't suggesting that it's a good system. I have a HECS debt and absolute hate the idea of interest on it, indexation was bad enough

Well at least once we get out of debt , we will be able to give better welfare to a generation of under educated, sick people with rotting teeth.

I was wondering this. I don't know whether or not we qualify for ftb part b. But I might claim it to be paid at the end of the financial year just in case. My youngest is over 6 though. Oh well I guess they will tell me when I call and put in an application.

I have a larger debt than I use to have, and now I have a house and a larger income able to service that debt. Australia has the income to support and pay the debt out without reducing the most vunerable members if society under the poverty line. If our debt is so bad why is Abbott creating an unsustainable PPL and why did they reduce the tax on super funds with a balance of >$1mill?
