You know what ****es me off more? Everyone I meet or know says they hate Abbott, they didn't vote for him.

Well someone did. A lot of people obviously did. And look.

I voted for him and so did my whole family. And I stand by that vote. Labour has caused to much debt.

I don't earn a massive amount (~$65k a year) but because I'm casual and work different amounts/shifts every fortnight I get slugged between $50-$300 extra a fortnight because of HECS. And that's with salary sacrifice.

    This post is ridiculous.

I am a sole parent and I am studying full time, working part time in the third year of a 4 year degree.

I will be moved to Newstart when my child turns 8 shortly, taking me down to just $900 a fortnight (including my earnings). Now (thanks to the LNP) in the future I will lose over $100 per fortnight in family tax B.

This leaves me with just $800 per fortnight.

My rent is $740 per fortnight. That will leave me with $60 to feed us, pay for electricity and Internet (which I do need for my degree), and fuel etc.

All these budget cuts will do is ensure more welfare dependency, because many sole parents will stop studying and have to stay on the low skilled part time and casual positions that don't pay much money.

And Why should children have to suffer?

I thought Australians were for equity and access to opportunity. How are a whole bunch of children not going to be disadvantaged when their parents can't pay the rent and they are homeless (which is already happening, with the move to Newstart, it will just get worse). When they can't buy food? When they can't afford shoes? Can't afford to go to the Dr?

    Its disgraceful.

It truly is becoming a country for the wealthy. Just like the USA.

    Please explain the debt

You seem to have ignored that question. Perhaps you just really don't know the answer?

I think the bulk of them are too ashamed to admit it! Only those few with no social conscience will.

    Just out of curiosity.

You stand by starving and homeless children?

You stand by the very real possibility your own children wont be able to afford university?

Just as two questions out of the many, but it is a genuine curiosity.

Already pay $70 a pop to go to the doctor as there are no bulk billing places where I live. Sucks if you have to go more than once in a week.

Loss of FTB is going to hurt.

Lucky I am over 30 for when I have to go back on Newstart in 6 months when my jobs ends. Such a strange narrative, no assistance will 'encourage' people to find work. Defies logic.

The debt was doubled in the first three months of the Abbott coming into power. Abbott created the debt crisis, not Labour.
