Default What Melbourne restaurant would you love to go to?

    hi,

am planning a lunch for my 40th when my mum and sister are visiting from interstate. I want to go somewhere special...somewhere I would not normally go. But, my knowledge of nice places is a bit lacking lol

I was thinking of Melba Brasserie but thought there might be somewhere awesome that bubhub land would know of.

Coda! Went for my birthday last year and loved it. Gingerboy and Estelle are nice as well. Fitzrovia on Fitzroy street in St Kilda if you want to spend a little less.

Golden Fields, Cutler & Co and Cumulus (all same owner) are yummy as well.

I miss Melbourne, so many great places!

Coda is quite noisy though? I was there with a group of friends and found it very noisy. But could have been the time of night.

OP what do you like? Do you want to go to the city or prefer not? What part of town are you in if not the city? There are so many amazing restaurants out of the CBD

Geez I need a trip back home.

oh, happy to go to the city...

SLightly north would be prob more convenient though (parking and travel...we are in the east...friends coming from Greensborough and Werribee and Ringwood)

Love the idea of a Fitzroy place as when i moved to Melbourne on my own when i was 20, i had my very first flat on Greeves Street (right near the big flower place).

Estelle is in Northcote. I don't remember coda being loud but we had an earlier seating.

Have a look at Hell of the North.

It's our favorite restaurant. So good! French cuisine. The chef used to work for Philip Mouchel. Everything is delicious, starters, fishes, meats, desserts.

I'm salivating just thinking about it.

The feed me menu is "only" $65 pp and you would get lots of food and get to try a lot of different flavor.

It's in Fitzroy, quite hipster trendy, not noisy at all.
