Default Childless on Mother's Day... One of the hardest days of the yr if your are TTC

We have all been there right? Everyday is difficult when you are trying to conceive, but then Mother's Day rolls around, don't get me wrong, I thank my lucky stars that I still have my beautiful, caring, loving mother on this earth to share this special day with..... But when you are yearning for a child, it's a day that is particularly hard day. Lying in bed this morning thinking of my day ahead.. A beautiful brunch on the water with 3 generations of strong beautiful women and I started to wonder what it will actually be like for me to be able to celebrate Mother's Day with our very own child.. My husband and I have been trying to conceive babyH for 2 years, I've had invasive surgery only to be told that everything looks fine and there should be no reason why we couldn't conceive. I have tracked down an Ivf specialist that we have to wait until August to see.. It seems that August can't come around quick enough...

Infertility can be such an isolating emotional roller coaster... Or is it just me?

I've been in your shoes. Good luck with IVF but hopefully you get your BFP before then!

    Hi there,
I have been exactly where you are and it is extremely hard. For 7 years I spent mother's day and christmases wondering when it would be my turn. On those days I took time out for myself and was kind to myself. i allowed myself to grieve a little then as you did enjoy the family you have now. I guess what I am saying is that your emotions are completely normal and, yes, quite a lot of us have been in your shoes. You are not alone. Be kind to yourself , keep trying, good things come to those who wait, so they say
    Hugs xxx

Thanks Ladies - it is a tough time in a couple's life when you are TTC.. and not having any close friends or family not going through it, so they dont understand makes it hard to ever talk about. I always get those pitty looks from my extended family, which I hate.. but its like no one knows what to say, they dont want to hurt your feelings but all I want is someone to listen to my struggles, listen to my frustrations... pretty lost right now

Well you're not alone here! Plenty of women ( and some men) going through the infertility journey, and so many success stories too which might help give a bit of hope. :-)

    Hi
Just wondering whether mother's day this year was any easier? We're you successful in August (or since)?

For us our journey is over so mother's day continues to be my toughest day of the year

Hopefully you have been able to enjoy now?
