I've concluded I'm way to impatient an obsessive to do this TTC thing. I'm testing like a crazy person. I can't tell if I feel pregnant or if AF is coming. 13DPO and still all negatives... Small amount of spotting today and nausea, fatigue, headaches and tender boobs plus I'm being completely horrible to everyone. The "oops baby" was so much easier.

Hi, thought I would join the chat? I am 26 & hopefully about to starting trying for our first..
Really nervous about going off the pill after ten years? Any advice on what to expect?
Thought I might deal with that hick up first and see how my cycle goes.
Really not sure what to expect, after all this time.
    Cheers

Welcome you sound very much like me last year! I stopped the pill in June last year and it took about 3 months to get a period (excluding the initial withdrawal bleed). I went to gp after a month because I was feeling crap as well and thought I had thyroid issues, they did all the tests for possible PCOS but I didn't have it. By the time I got to the ultrasound stage it showed I was about to ovulate (but the place made a typo and thought there was a cyst so sent me to FS).

Now in 6th cycle of trying since getting period back

Hi @twentysomething yep same boat here! I went off the pill after 7 years and guess I was a bit naive, thought everything would just pick up as normal. It's now been about 6 weeks and no period yet Other than that I haven't really had any other effects, it has been a pretty smooth process (although probably if you asked DH I have been a bit moody, that could just be related to being busy at work and busy home life though). I just want my period to get back to "normal" first so we can plan TTC a bit better. Good luck TTC, it freaks me out a bit but also very exciting!

On the positive side @twentysomething, my periods have been much shorter and lighter since stopping the pill! Obviously everyone is different though

Hi miss Ess and ElleDee, my gosh I think I have been a bit naive thinking I'll just go off and everything will be fine... thanks for the good advice, I think I will go of this weekend and see what happens in the coming weeks. My older sister has very severe Pcos but I have never been tested.. Although I think hubby wouldn't mind if it's take longer then two months
i guess I expected to come of and be pregnant a month late Lol. Only time will tell.
I have been super careful with my diet exericing every day. Will keep you up to date

    Hey @missess & @twentysomething good luck guys!

I'm at another point, never been on the pill but it's been almost 2 1/2 years of ttc now. Finally convinced DH to get tested this week, so nervous to find out results. My doctor said to hold off me seeing a FS until we get his results. Fingers crossed it's something fixable! Getting sick of waiting now! All my friends that have recently gotten married are now falling pregnant. It's so hard to hear! I'm so happy for them but wishing it was me too. When I got married at 21, I thought it would be easy to fall pregnant especially at my young age then and my husband being 23. Crazy how things work out!

Let me know how you are going with getting cycles back to normal! Hopefully we can all get some good news soon!

Yes I was exactly the same @twentysomething - my periods were always regular before I went on the pill so I had no reason to expect otherwise now! And I think I thought Ok, we'll go off the pill and stop using any other contraception, have sex semi-regularly and it should all happen but the more I read the more I think we would be VERY lucky for it to be so easy. We put so many years into trying to avoid it Hopefully things will go smoothly, apparently it is very normal for your body to take two or three months to go back to normal after you come off the pill so I'm not too worried yet - just impatient!!!

Hi ElleDee yes I have just gone off and already feel impatient! Patients is a virtue! Lol have you started taking prgnacy multis yet? Or are you waiting for say your second period? I still feel very torn about having a baby but I know hubby wants a family, and I really feel I just don't want to work my hole life and have done nothing else.. I really love my job but, sometimes that's not enough.
