    Default It made me sad

A couple nights ago dp and I went out for tea. There were 12 tables occupied out of the 12 tables 7 of those tables had one or more people sitting on there phones for the majority of the time there, I could see on one table it was a couple and they were both on Facebook. I've since deleted the app off my phone i will still use Facebook from my laptop but that it's I'm done, how sad is it when you pay good money to go out for a meal with people and you sit on your phone most of the time, one girl sat there with her elbow on the table and her phone right in front of her face, it's made me feel so sad, do doesn't get it so venting here lol

    I'm with you.

It's the whole paying more attention to people (ie via Facebook, twitter etc) than to the friends and family you are actually and physically with that I don't really get iykwim.

Yes I did see that which got me thinking about it originally, then I seen a photo of people at a train station all with heads down on phones and one person not with them circled and a comment along the lines of what the ... Is this guy doing, looking at the world or something? I was at the shops with my mum yesterday and was waiting out the front of one for her, usually I probably would of grabbed my phone out and scrolled Facebook but instead I was watching the world where I noticed a lady with 2 kids covered in cupcakes trying to figure out how to clean them, I gacve her some of my wet wipes, she was soooo grateful, just a tiny kind gesture but I realised if I had Facebook I probably wouldn't have even seen her

I think that's the point, isn't that where all eyes are these days.

I stopped using Facebook about 6 weeks ago and don't miss it at all! I was checking it every day before that!

I never get my phone out in social situations though... That's bad!

    That's lovely.
I like people watching and I have two boys so playing on my phone isn't an option when we are out, which I'm happy about.
I have seen plenty of it though.
I don't think anyone means to do it, they're just suckered in.

    You're welcome, it's pretty powerful isn't it.
Makes me a bit emotional for some reason.
