    Default GD test

    Hi all,

Just wondered how long it took you to get your results from GD test? It's been one week and no call but thought they would let me know either way. By a week should I expect all is ok? Not sure where to call to find out, just call the hospital midwives?

    Thanks

I didn't get a call and everything was fine. From the people I know, it seems they only call if it's positive.

Your results should be ready. Generally they don't call you if you haven't tested positive, however I actually tested positive with my first pregnancy and no one contacted me! The midwife was very surprised when two weeks later I went for my 30 week appointment and had no idea I had GD. Soooo sometimes things can fall between the cracks, so to put your mind at ease just call the hospital and they can look up the results for you.

They usually call you if it's positive and if its negative just let you know at your next appointment

I'd call to check. They should call if positive, but things can always be overlooked.

It took about a week (or a couple of days longer - can't really remember at the moment) to get my results back from my hospital, and I did end up having GD with my result at 2 hours after the glucose drink being an 11.0, when they were looking for something under 8.0.
