I made this one for a hens night lol. My biggest tip is to make 2 and then you have one to practice smashing before the day and a back up one! And leave lots of time to make it, start it 3-4 days before
I made a very similar one for my hens night! It was the star attraction it was a bit awkward to cover given the angel of the 3 balloons but worked out fine in the end.

Used the stock standard flour/water mix and lots of newspaper. Final 2 layers were plain white paper before painting it (it was a light pink so that way the newspaper didn't show through the paint)

The inflatable beach ball above is a great idea!

Damn, can't find any pictures of my penguin pinata...

This is the most recent one I did - made with the large round balloon (I can't claim credit for the painting). He was slightly beaten up at this point, but worked a treat

I made this george pig piñata myself. Just 2 balloons covered in magazineimage.jpg cuttings and then white paper for top layer (3layers in total) used pva glue watered down slightly. And then covered in tissue paper. It lasted a while with kids hitting it. I'm stoked with how it turned out didn't cost much at all. Kids had a ball
