Actually a good friend of mine took her teenage daughter to George's restaurant a couple of years ago (before the make over and rename) and George came out to talk to them when the waiter told him the daughter was a big fan. Apparently he was lovely and spoke to them for quite a while. He comes across very differently on TV though.

I'm going to admit it. I actually like Sarah. OK, I can see that she comes across a bit uppity and standoffish but I think that might be nerves and insecurity. She certainly can cook!

I also really like Amy. Amazing cook, and just seems like a lovely person. It will be easier to get a sense of their personalities when there are fewer of them left in the competition.

I'm enjoying this season. I think it's much closer to what it started out as in the UK and initially here - about the food rather than the personality clashes, drama and stupid voting (does anyone else remember that from season 2 or 3 when they got to vote each other off?), boys vs girls, etc rubbish of previous seasons.

I don't remember the voting, but I do remember the "boys versus girls" rubbish. I never saw the UK version, but I am loving the greater number of Mystery Boxes and Invention Tests. I thought the "mini-Mystery Box" was such a cute idea. I do hope they bring back Masterclass, though.

But I also like a bit of "contestant drama"!! Can't help myself
For me, it is part of the experience!!

Yes, Amy does seem really nice. As does Smiley Darwin. Bobby Pin seems to have faded into the background.

I was talking to my brother yesterday about the show, and I said something about the "elements" of one of the dishes. He said "Oh God you sound like George, stop it!". I'm sure he is perfectly lovely in real life, but he does have the tendency to be a bit of a knob...but it increases the entertainment factor of the show, so we forgive him. Gary is perfect in every way, of course.

I get the feeling the judges aren't a fan of Steven.

I'm thinking he'll be going home!

I feel that too. When another contestant does something silly they try to give them advice - when he does something silly they just roll their eyes and walk away.
