    Unhappy Starting to panic...

DH has just been told today at work there will likely be redundancies at his workplace soon. There are 2 crews they will be merging into one and the people leftover will likely not have a job We are almost certain DH will be one considering that he has been here less than 12 months. They only pay 2 weeks wages per year of service You would think government jobs would be safe? If DH doesn't have work we will be in a very bad place I'm so stressed and I'm not really sure what to do and on top of it I am very scared what this new budget will bring

Hugs. I was made redundant last month. I'm actually just about to go into an interview (I work in real estate). I know the feeling all too well

Does he work for federal govt? Sounds a bit odd that he only is paid 2 weeks per year, federal govt are usually better.

Big hugs, hopefully if he starts searching now, he will find something soon, redundancy is hard going when you're so new in a job.

Lots of redundancies happening during the previous year especially. Very worrying, they were rather rare ten years ago. I know of a couple of highly skilled people in their field who have been made redundant recently too. Hope things work out ok for you.

DH is fed govt and has been told to expect redundancies in his dept too. It's very scary. I hate being stressed about finances, it flows over to affect all aspects of life I've found.

    to you.

Sorry to hear OP My DP has been made redundant twice in 2 years! He said it's a joke, it used to be pretty rare to be made redundant 10or so years ago & now it's happening way too much He's been out of work for 3 months & only 1 interview for a days work on Saturdays. Times are tough, hang in there!

that's terrible! We went through this about twelve months ago when I was made redundant in a similar scenario, it's really sucky!

    Good luck xx
