Default Best newborn formula for exclusive bottle feeding

As much as I would love for a miracle to happen and suddenly be able to breastfeed our next child (I don't produce milk no matter what - tried that, been there, really wanted to), I will need to purchase some formula in the next few months to be ready for birth.

In the past we've used S26 Gold and Heinz Nurture Gold. Does anyone know of the best recommended one out there at the moment and how much they are?

Bellamy's Organic which is available at Woolies, Coles and a Big W. It's $22.95 or Karicare Goats formula (easier to digest) from Woolies, Coles & Big W. It's a lot pricier at I think $32.95.

I'm another who rates Bellamys Organic. My husband and I were just saying the other day how it's been a life saver. As soon as we switched to Bellamys our DD turned into an angel overnight.

The "gold" ranges caused constipation in both of my girls.

I've also heard the "gold" ranges cause constipation. I started to give formula one a day, next week I'll start twice a day. We started straight into Bellamys, like that it's organic and you can buy it from grocery stores. So far so good.

Definitely Bellamy's. The S26 Gold tastes quite gross and can cause constipation. Each baby is different though.

I'll go against the grain here and say my DD did not like the Bellamy's. Very disappointing as I wanted her to have it because so many people spoke so highly of it. I ended up using the Nan Pro formula and she took to it like she'd been drinking it all her life. It gets a big thumbs up from me

Also wanted to say, DD never had any constipation or wind issues when using the Nan either. My DD1 I used S26 and my goodness she was terribly constipated and upset so I stayed clear of this brand.

We have tried every kind of formula on the market because our dd has severe constipation issues. Really it is a matter of trying an see what works.

We ended up on (much to everybody's surprise) S26 Newborn. S26 have changed their ingredients so apparently it is now less likely to cause constipation. Still would recommend staying away from any of the "gold" ones if you have a history of constipation in the family. S26 Newborn is $15 at terry white chemist and $15.85 at big W.

We started with Bellamys Organic too....however it seems DS has reflux as he could never keep it down, to the point of screaming when he vomited. We changed to Karicare Aptimal AR & he is a different bubba. No constipation as of yet...
But as previous posters have said, every bub is different, & unfortunately there may be a bit of trial & error before you find one that suits.
