Tried to do one at 40+4 with ds2 but cervix was high hard and closed. He was born 5 days later within 3hrs.

I had one at 38 and 38+5 with Dd. The first one gave me cramps but did nothing real. The second one didn't do a thing. I was induced the next day (my induction internal I was 2-3cm dilated, cervix was still pretty posterior and thick. Same as the day before . Do the s&s did nothing). Labour was less than 2hrs.
Eta: I had IDGD and they wanted to induce at 38wks, but I refused and asked for s&s instead. That's the only reason they were done before 40wks. They would not do it before 38wks.

Had one at 40 weeks exactly as my blood pressure had shot up. It was around 4:30pm, woke up at 11:30pm in labour, babe in arms at 7am. The midwife said I looked like I was about to pop any minute though, so I was very favourable.

Mine will be done next week at 39 weeks, if I havent had bub before then (midwifes words). My last labours were all very fast (7 hrs, 2 hrs and the last was 30 minutes all from first contraction to birth) but never had a s & s done before. Hubby isnt home until next friday so wasnt sure if it would be worth having him home on the Wednesday as im having it done thursday morning.

Im 37.5 and have a midwife app tomorrow. At my last app they mentioned a s &s at my nxt app. Guess it depends on how my cervix is looking. Im hoping for a vbac too so trying to avoid interventions if possible but im in so much pain and so fed up with being pregnant!

I had three, each was 36-48 hours apart. The final one was really forceful (done by ob not midwife) and I went into labour the next day.

Had one at 40+1 and lost plug 40+4, went into labour 40+5. Had her 40+6. I cramped all day after s&s then nothing until labour started a few days later.

lil miss, I've been reading up on stats, and the success rate greatly increases at 39 weeks, it becomes something like a 75% rate go on to have their baby within a week. Obviously, the fact that everyone is more 'due' increases stats but its promising. I would be seeing if DH can come home a few days early.
