Default Starting sertraline (Zoloft) late pregnancy

Hi I have posted previously about my anxiety issues in the last trimester of pregnancy. I'm currently 36.5 weeks and after seeing my midwife last week and breaking down, bp through the roof she got me into my gp and she diagnosed me with anxiety with ocd and commenced me on sertraline. Some bits of what I was suffering feel better for the most part of the day and I start counselling tomorrow. But just wondering how others found the sertraline to help especially with the ocd side of things and how long this took. I'm currently taking 25mg and increasing to 50mg on Wednesday.

    TIA

Default Starting sertraline (Zoloft) late pregnancy

    I'm sorry you didn't get a response Mummy12.

I was on Zoloft after DS2 was born. For OCD and PND....it took a few weeks for the meds to even out (I felt a bit strange for a little while) and for me to start feeling better.

You posted 2 months ago so Id be keen to hear how you're going. Little bubba must have arrived by now too

    Xxxx

Hi LouLaa. Well dd2 was born 2 weeks ago and things went downhill pretty quickly and ocd becoming out of control. I ended up in a mother baby unit and am now on zoloft 200mg as well as serequel and things seem to be on the improve which hopefully continues.
How are you now? Especially with the ocd?

Don't be surprised if you have to try a few different meds and doses. Different ones suit different people. Zoloft and I did not match up well. Good luck xx

What a rough start for you both. Fingers crossed things continue to improve!

AFM - I've been off the meds for 4 years now. At the time I was on them, I spent a week in a mother/baby unit, had counseling and attend a CBT course. It all helped and I slowly eased off the meds when I felt it was time.

My OCD is not as bad as it used to be but also, the kids are much older and I have more 'control' over life (if that makes sense). I am able to set aside time for my cleaning rituals when the kids at at school.

Now that I'm preg with our third, I'm not sure how I'll go once baby arrives. Take it as it comes I guess!
