Yeah, Preston is still top of our list at the moment...

I agree that Aubrey is probably out.

From your suggestions I used to like Gabriel but have gone off it now. So hard.
    Thanks for your input

Not as keen on Aubrey, lovely name but I agree it's unfortunately been too feminized these days to give to a little boy, sorry

How about Max? Miles? Gabriel or even Gabe? Julian? I also really like Gideon but don't think I'll get that one past DH either!

That's interesting my Mum suggested it but with the French pronunciation of ahn-REE. I like if it's pronounced like that but no one will, obviously lol

It's funny cos everything I think of is presenting itself to my brain with a cheesy French accent... My first thought was Jacques, but Jack could maybe work?

    Oliver
    Sebastian
    Nicolas
    Alastair
Charles (although I think René Charles might actually be someone?)
    Thomas
    Jacob

Subscribing because I quite like the style of names being suggested and I need to pick a boys name too!

Haven't read the other posts so sorry if I repeat, but I have an awesome baby book that suggests sibling names for all the names in there, and for Rene it's brother suggestions are:
    - Andre
    - Raul
    - Noel
    - Ramon
    - Felipe
    - Marcel

Other French boys names I can think of are:
    - Adrien
    - Claude
    - Clement
    - Emmanuel
    - Gaspard
    - Hugo
    - Jules
    - Louis
    - Mathias
    - Pierre
    - Sebastian
    - Xavier

And for what it's worth, I feel Rene and Preston are a bit of a style mismatch, but if you aren't worried about that then go for it!

I wouldn't worry about names not "matching"...kids only spend the first 10-15 years of their lives bring referred to as "Rene and ....". Your next son will be his own person, I never think about my 3 sibling's names and whether they "match" or are the same "style" as mine.

Having said that I do have "rules" for my kids' names - I really want to avoid having matching first initials (eg Jane and Jack). This is only because my friend is one of three in her family starting with "S" so they were constantly accidentally opening each other's mail if it was only address to "S Smith". Bit random but that's my one rule
