Apparently it was 1.75 hours after collection, including the drive, so they didn't test for an hour after he dropped it off!!! that's f*cked

If it was a pick up pathology place then they would have had to wait for the driver to come and collect it. I reckon find out what hospital it was taken to and drive directly there next time.

Hi Del, sorry you are having a sucky time. I would think maybe get DH to go super keen on supps/good diet etc for a month and retest. I wouldn't trust the results left that long anyway (my clinic says have to test within the hour). His results don't sound too bad, perhaps a retest might come back normal?
I thought you may live regional? Is there somewhere else to get it done? Hugs x

Wow just reading all through that, I would definitely look more into it and do another sample.

I've noticed there are 2 different classifications - one is WHO which says over 70% abnormality is bad, then this classification (which has a name but I've read so much I forget) that says 4% healthy is normal.

It's his motility that is awful, only 6% progressive and 7% non progressive that's really really bad. Progressive should be 32%+.

We have a plan of attack for his diet, but I'm super angry we have wasted all this time. Week long clomid headaches, so much pain from the lap. The HcG was so painful. All bc he couldn't get a repeat test. I know I'm sounding mean and I should cut him some slack, but I'm 36 in a while. We don't have years more to burn for his ego.

    I'm sounding horrible aren't I?

Hi del, my DHs first sa came back 4% normal and the results said 4% and higher is greater so first fs didn't even worry about it, however new fs said it wasn't that long ago to 10-15% was considered the lower limit so even though dh is normal, fs would still like to try and improve that number. He has dh taking supplements to improve sperm quality (selenium, zinc, folic acid and aloe Vera juice) and dh has to ice his nuts at night. Even though we've had good fertilisation rates with ivf fs says that this might be why we get lower quality embryos so he's going to do half icsi on our next cycle and see if that helps. Perhaps your dh could take some supplements and get retested in a few months?

    Me - 30, Dh - 38 ttc #1 since June 2011
natural bfp June 2012 - mc 5.5 weeks; 5 cycles clomid; 2 unsuccessful ivf.
