Default Tandem feeding - did you need breast pads?

A question for mumma's who have tandem fed.

Did you need to use breast pads when the second baby arrived? Should I bother buying them now or just wait and see?

I needed them for the first 2 months with DS1 but was hoping since I'm still feeding him that my b00bs won't go back to being leaky when the new baby arrives.

I'm currently feeding DS1 twice a day (morning and bed time).

Yes, I needed them all three times, when my milk comes in I leak like crazy no matter how much I'm nursing, that was true of tandem feeding as well as triandem feeding when my 3rd came along.

You could always just use washers if necessary in an emergency if you do leak, then get some pads?

    All the best

Thanks so much ladies - I really had no idea what to expect. I had a lot of feeding issues up to 12 weeks post partum with DS. Hoping this time will be easier.

Everyone has been telling me not to tandem feed, that it's too hard. Cutting DS back to 2 feeds a day has been hard for me. I miss our cuddle time. I don't think I'm ready to cut him back any further.

I didn't need them second time round. I was still feeding DS1 when DS2 was born. I leaked like crazy first time so stocked up on breast pads and I haven't used any!

I didn't when tandem feeding but then I didn't need them when my first was little and it was just him. I ended up giving all my breast pads away to a friend who was a big leaker.

I tandem feed twins (10 months) and have never leaked.
