@misti my bleeds made me totally paranoid. My first was a major gush of blood, second a smear and third an almost major amount. I never had cramps during, but became hyper sensitive to every twinge and spasm. There r some days I have stabbing pain but I have a lot of scare tissue that is being stretched around the place. What state r u in???

@misti I get little short sharp pains every so often. They almost feel like being stabbed with a needle. In the early weeks I was hyper paranoid about every little twinge but then all the twinges went away and I felt nothing and that was even more scary! We can never just relax!

I have my 12 week scan on Wednesday. Nervous but also a little bit excited. We've been having weekly scans with my OB and it's been really reassuring to see the progress. The transition from blob to somersaulting baby is amazing!

Hi ladies, thanks for your help, it put my mind at ease. The cramping seems to have gone which is a huge relief.
@GStef it is hard to keep the madness a bay when you bleed isn't it? I had no idea how scary it would be. I think I coped with last night's episode ok. It was my 2nd bleed, The 1st was worst, a moderate amount of red and this was a large amount of pink smearing (sorry for the sharing everyone). I managed to get through it without calling the obs or going to the ed but it was borderline, when the cramping started up as well I nearly lost it. There was a bit 1st thing this morning but now it seems to have cleared up. If it starts again I'm definitely calling the obs . It just seems like I can't do anything the slightest activity seems to set me off, bed rest drives me completely bonkers but I'll take it over bleeding any day.

My next scan is Thursday, I was so pleased that the obs wanted to do weekly scans but now Thursday seems like a lifetime away! Hang in there little embie! We've nicknamed our embie George by the way, it's a long story, I was a bit nervous giving it a "name" in case something goes wrong but I'll be gutted regardless of whether we've named it or not so George it is.

@misti I know it makes u a crazy person!! I was the toilet bandit for a few weeks there! Prob went about 40 times a day! Paranoid much? Our OB was great, gave us his mobile to call at any time. We r doing weekly scans now too during the bleeds it was every 4 days.

We are officially 12 weeks TODAY!!!
    Yippee!!!!

I think I've been to the loo 40 times already today and the level of inspection when I wipe is just wrong!

I'm supposed to be doing a course all next week (assuming the bleeding stops), the other attendees are going to think I have the world's worst bladder control or some nasty std as between checking for bleeding and taking my eleventy million pessaries and pills a day I'm going to be spending 1/2 my time in the bathroom!
It must be such a relief to get to 12 weeks, congratulations !!! That seems like a life time away for me at the moment, I like the idea of a scan every 4 days when I have bleeds, that would mean I could have one on Monday.... I'll see how I get on today and maybe speak to the obs this arvy or tomorrow (poor woman I have a feeling she's going to earn her $$ with me). I spoke to soon about it clearing up this morning But it is brown so I'm assuming it's just residue from yesterday?

12 weeks today!!! And 3 days without any vomiting or zofran! I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel, it does get better!
Scan on Monday, can't wait and am a bit nervous but know I'll feel more confident after it.
Sorry to hear some of you are bleeding. Hope it all stops and is nothing to worry about.

Hi, I've been staying away from this thread after I had a major bleed on Wed night that lasted about 5 hours, I had major cramping and passed a lot of large clots and was certain I had miscarried. My scan on Thurs showed a little bean with a heartbeat thankfully at 6w3d... follow up scan with the specialist ultrasound place on Tues... hoping all is still ok. You're not going through this alone. And now I figure we are all here to support each other so will join back in. I've been ordered onto bedrest for a week!

Ohhh @Em you poor thing It's just horrid isn't it? I was on bed rest last week and things seemed to settle down but the bleeding came back yesterday I don't know what to make of it, on one hand I am trying not to freak out and on the other I really really want our little bean to be ok. The worst thing is that every time I have a bleed my symptoms go away which just seems doubly unfair. Like you though, I had a scan last week and saw a little heartbeat which was reassuring... for about 12 hours. My issue now is that it doesn't seem to be going away, it's gone from red to brown which is supposedly not as serious, but assuming it doesn't stop tonight I don't know if I should call the obs tomorrow or wait till Monday morning?? I feel bad calling on the weekend but then again I don't want to be negligent . A window into my tummy and a magnifying glass would solve a lot of these problems.

It must have been a relief to see the hb after those clots. Did they say what they were or what caused the bleed? I'm DE like you so it's not like it's the after effects of a stim cycle. I suppose all we can both do it sit tight and pray our little ones hang in there. In the meantime I hope you've got plenty of books/TV to keep you occupied.

Thanks Misti - my scan was just a basic external one with my OB, he's not really used to scanning until 9 weeks onwards so he couldn't identify much - he did say tge sac looked a little smaller than 6+3 . My one on Tues is with Monash womens which hopefully might shed some more light as this is what they specialise in. I can't help thinking perhaps I miscarried one embryo.

They do say brown blood is ok, but you can always call and they can advice over the phone. Im supposed to go to a work conference interstate on the 6th, but I'm going to ask the OB for a letter saying I can't go.

Here's hoping the next few days pass quickly!
