Default Keeping newborn warm in winter

    Hi
I'm expecting my first in less than 5 weeks and the thing that's been confusing for me at the moment is how to dress bub for bed over winter. I have a few swaddle wraps, a warm gro bag and plenty of waffle blankets and fleeced blankets. My thoughts were to dress bub in long sleeve bodysuit with trousers(jogging type pyjama things) pop in gro bag or swaddle and then would I just place an extra blanket on top or is this dangerous incase it rides up over bubs face? Should I wrap the gro bag/wrap in an extra outer wrap? I'm so confused but down want to do something that would be against SIDs advice either....any help or tips will be greatly appreciated!!!

Hi! I had two winter babies. I dressed them in a singlet with either a bonds wonder suit or long sleeve, long leg pyjama set. Then I wrapped them in a thinish wrap for day or a blanket for night. When I put them down in the bassinet for sleeps, I put a blanket or two over the top and tucked it in really firmly, right under the mattress so that it couldn't come untucked.

When they got a little older, and could move and wriggle more, I swapped to a zip up swaddle and a sleeping bag.

    Hth. Good luck and congratulations!

My little man will be 2 in July, when he was first born I put him in a singlet, another singlet suit that buttoned at the crotch, long sleeve onesie, socks and a hat- I wrapped him and put a blanket over the top at night (never a hat when they are sleeping at night).
