Default Positive experiences with Saizen and Melatonin?

Long time reader, first time poster on this forum.

So, long story short I'm a late 20's very poor responder that is almost at the end of our IVF road as we keep getting only a couple of poor quality eggs per stim and we've transferred many poor embryos to no avail (we did however hit the jackpot two and a half years ago though and have a sweet sweet DD. My AMH has taken a huge plunge since then though).

My FS isn't convinced that either melatonin or Saizen do anything but is willing to throw them in for our next stim (which will be in about 6 weeks) just cause I asked so was wondering if anyone has any experiences, positive or otherwise they'd care to share about them?

If you've got any other golden ticket advice for a very poor responder feel free to chuck that in too! We've done all of the run of the milk stuff, now just trying anything safe basically.

    Thanks in advance

@scratchycat sorry I can't be much help. I've recently started taking melatonin so won't really know if it helps til after next cycle. I know a lot of ladies who are poor responders and have poor quality eggs have had success with dhea. I think you have to be on it for at least 5 months to get full effect. I have a cousin who did 15 or so cycles before trying this and got a BFP. Also went on to have a natural BFP after going on it again!! Might be worth a try. Wish you the best of luck

Thanks @frogpossum - I've done the DHEA thing a couple of times now and whilst my mature egg numbers at pick up were better (4 as opposed to one or two) we still ended up in the same situation - a couple of crummy, fragmented embryos on day two that didn't take. We've done at least five transfers from embryos that were made under DHEA and nothing. Still, I'm taking it in prep for our next cycle anyway!

Hi guys i have been on melatonin the last 2 cycles and have seen a definite improvement in egg numbers and quality. Ie prior to using melatonin we were getting on average about 8 eggs (this is over 3 other cycles not on it) our 4th cycle we got 10 eggs and 3 blasts have never had blasts before and our last cycle we had 19 eggs and 5 blasts ( we have 6 now in the freezer) still no BFP but feeling closer to it! Hope this helps and good luck! X

@scratchycat I realise this is an old post but would be interested in how it went - my last cycle I did Saizen, melatonin and had a scratch and got a BFP unfortunately miscarried at 10 weeks but I too got more eggs this cycle - I too am a poor responder

@Rarah11 sorry it's taken me a while to get back to this thread, a last minute FS change meant that we started later than what we planned. Thought I'd update for yourself and anyone looking in the future. We ended up doing a oestrogen priming cycle and I also had a scratch and lipiodal flush before we started. My FS (the famous Wazza - woohoo for last minute cancellation appointments) blasted me with FSH and we used Saizen and melatonin. I'm not sure which component of all of the above was the secret ingredient but we had our best result ever - 11 eggs, 6 mature, 5 fertilized. Three made it to blast, two transferred but none fit to freeze. We got our BFP and are now 6 weeks - so early days but by far our best result since my AMH skydived from 11 to almost undetectable. Just praying our bubba is sticky and there's one on your way too

@scratchycat that is great news and I hope all is going well! Can I ask what a lipoid flush is?
