I have been on quite a few cruises - mostly with Royal Carribean but also with Princess and Star Cruises. (would never go with P&O - have heard some pretty bad things about them)

I love cruising, such a great way to have a holiday.

that side does get rougher. If you are concerned about sea sickness, go on a cruise through Asia as it is MUCH calmer.

Royal Caribbean rocks!! We've never felt ill. Being on a bigger ship above a certain deck helps with queasiness.

I used to work on a cruise ship, granted it departed Florida but the rules are the same on big liners.
When you book, book an inside stateroom, in the middle of the ship.
Being that low and centre you feel less of the movement.
If you are really worried about being unwell, pack the sea bands, some kwells and try drinking ginger onboard. The first and last 24 hours are usually the problem. First, you are getting your "sea legs" and last because usually the engine is on full to get back to port. So you notice the bumps. Have a blast! I love cruises.
