    My eldest had a long term cough when she was about three, neg for WC, wasn't croup. Lasted several weeks. In the end antihistamines seemed to help but to be honest I was never sure if it was that that helped or if it had just run it's course. Anti-b's didn't seem to touch it. The GP decided it was either allergies or a viral thing.

    You can get Emla patches over the counter from the chemist- numbs the area, she won't feel a thing - my kids have had tonnes of blood tests, Emla is the best!
