    Default Irregular cycle frustration!!!

I feel soooo frustrated today! My cycles have been all over the place so 12 days ago I had an appointment with my Gyno who is also a fertility specialist. He did an internal ultrasound and confirmed I had ovulated. He said he obviously couldnt tell when but judging by my CM I think it was 3 days prior.

So here I am between 12 to 15 DPO and no AF! Plus I did a pregnancy test this morning and BFN.

It is soooo hard trying to fall pregnant when you dont know what is happening in your body! Sorry I needed to vent!!!

I feel your pain. I've always had irregular cycles.
Sounds like you must be 12 dpo though? Unless you have a 16 day lp? Because if you ovulated you would have to have af now.
at 12 dpo and even 15 realistically, you could get a false negative, especially if it wasn't fmu or a very sensitive test. I can't get a positive on many test at 12 dpo. Faint lines at 13/14 dpo.
Hope something shows up very soon.

@Bluebirdgirl thanks for your reply. I like hearing that someone else is in a similar position to me. I think it brings you back down to earth a bit and stops the "why me!?!?"

Yes what you said is true so I very well could be too early. I think I am just frustrated because so far this cycle is 43 days which is the longest one yet. I hate the game of waiting! I just want to know one way or the other!!!

How long have u been TTC?

Well I'm not, but wanted to reply because I know how it feels not to know what's going on. I tried for a year with my 5th. I was breast feeding only twice a day and having a cycle but so random! The longest cycle I ever had was 59 days!
I've always had long cycles even when not feeding, 40 days usually.
i found that keeping a diary of symptoms finally helped me to pin point ovulation within a few days either way.
I was only using cervical fluid and position tracking and after a while I did figure it.
I'm pregnant now, on a surprise cycle, the shortest one I'd had in 8 years! I was meant to be in the safe week and didn't realise I had ovulated until after it happened.
It's crazy how our bodies can just do things.

    Heaps of luck to you!

    Hi anony,
I too have very irregular cycles. Have you tried other methods of tracking ovulation? OPK's, temping etc. This can help you pinpoint ovulation better.
The other thought was taking Vitex which can be great at evening out cycle length.

Hi @bel2466 yes I was temping right up until the day I saw the fs but he told me to stop and that it doesn't work!! I couldn't believe it!! So I gave that up. I also had been using OPKs but still not able to fall pregnant.

He has prescribed clomid but I was realllly hoping to fall pregnant naturally without taking it! Oh well I guess once AF arrives I will get started on it.

    Whats your history?

Mine started as PCOS that got complicated by a ruptured ectopic pregnancy. Have done 6 months clomid and various other options in my 2 1/2 years of TTC number 2. Now in the depths of ivf but more due to my tube issues not my irregular periods from pcos
Maybe consider Vitex before Clomid if you are concerned about taking it. Vitex is natural and available without prescription

Another irregular cycle here but I had no luck with vitex. Another option is maca. Google it. It's not a herb so doesn't interrupt hormones, only levels them out. It is a vegetable root used for infertility, energy, endocrine system. I've heard many good successes with maca. Comes in powder form or capsules.

@bel2466 sorry to hear of your eptopic pregnancy and good luck with IVF.

I am still waiting on AF so I think I will just go ahead with the Clomid as I dont know anything about Vitex!
