So your life not being taken over by your kids really means, "She'll still put me first!"

That is so so sad. Where is the sense of needing to protect your child? She obviously doesn't have that strong maternal instinct to protect and nurture if she can just leave a 1 year old alone and drive away. Absolutely sick. I'd be fuming and wouldn't be able to bite my tongue. The amount of things that could happen makes me feel anxious just thinking about it. It also makes me wonder what else she does if she's happy to do that?

That has made me feel sick.
She did that to show her friend? There is no such thing as balance with a 1 yr old - the baby comes first! Not worrying about what friends think. How does that prove balance anyway by leaving your baby alone in the house? I can think if another word! Sorry this has made me angry.

Got the balance right????? That isn't balance, that is failing to provide appropriate supervision

That's awful. I agonised about going to the letter box when Jasper was a baby! I don't know how anyone could think that was okay. I don't even know that I could remain friends with someone who thought that was okay, even though it wasn't her child because I don't think I'd be able to relate to someone if they thought that was "balance".
