    Default Question (sorry tmi)

Hi, I have 3 days to go til my due date (getting very impatient).. For the past week whenever I've gone to the toilet, I've noticed a greenish, clear discharge when I wipe my vagina. I've never had that with previous pregnancies. I only had a bloody show with my first daughter (almost 10 years ago) and that was during labour. It isn't hurting or itchy and doesn't seem to smell either. My next appointment isn't until next week (unless I give birth within the next few days). Any ideas what it might be?

Sounds like plug. Didn't mean you will go into labour right now, but it sounds like stuff is happening.

Thanks, I hope you're right. I thought it might be my plug too, but also thought it might be an infection (I hope not). It is on the toilet paper when I wipe or sometimes on my pad. It's very pale green.

If it's green I think you should call your midwife or ob to be safe, green can mean infection.

My plug was a pale green with ds2 - gross but sort of the colour of snot - not as dark though. I was getting it on the loo paper from about 36weeks.

No infection, all good maybe I just ate too many green smoothies

But if your worried go see your OB. Better safe than sorry

Thankyou, I hope it is the mucus plug, but I will make an appointment just in case.

I would get in to see someone asap just to put your mind at ease.

I associate green with infection so would want it checked.

Sounds like it could well be your mucous plug. Green can sometime indicate infection though. Is it possible for you to give your care provider a call and arrange a swab test?

I had green plug too my middie said as long as it doesn't smell offensive it's fine. It can turn green when it sits inside you for a while before coming out or before you wipe it away. But yes it can also be infection, id be concerned if you've lost waters, it smelt, itched or you had pain. It's perfectly reasonable to ease your mind with a quick phone call though. hope things get moving.. Very exciting
