I wouldn't do it. I'm having DS2's first birthday party Mother's Day weekend (his actual birthday is earlier in the week) but I planned his party for the Saturday not the Sunday as I know many people would be busy doing things with their families on the Sunday.

Would I go to a party on Mother's Day? Possibly if my hubby was away and if the kids and I didn't plan to spend the entire day with my mum

My daughters second birthday party was on Father's Day. We asked a few friends and nobody minded so we decided to go ahead. It worked out well for us as we got to see my dad/FIL together so didn't have to make trips everywhere. I did feel a bit bad so I went to the tube stock nursery and bought a native seedling for each dad that came, wrapped them up with a tag that said sorry for stealing Father's Day! Everyone thought it was a great day, not one complaint about having it on Father's Day!

I probably would be fine with it as i'm a single mum and i'm not that fussed about mother's day where as my kids would love a party to go to.

Of all the days in the year, seriously.. No..
I wouldn't plan a birthday party on Mother's Day, nor would I let my child go to a birthday party on Mother's Day..

I wouldn't be annoyed, I just wouldn't go - so I think you should expect some people to already have plans.

My friend had her daughters party on Mother's Day last year. She had a pretty good turn out and nobody seemed to mind. She does throw a hell of a party though I was slightly relieved that this year it is the weekend after though.

I wouldn't have a party on Mother's Day but I'd attend one with my kids if we were invited.

My SIL had my nephews birthday party on Mother's Day last year, I wasn't annoyed but it made for a very tiring day between trying to spend some alone time with my DH and DD (my first mother's day) visiting my in laws then trying to spend some alone time with my Mum before attending my nephews' party. I would've preferred if she had it on another day but I wouldn't have declined the invite as it's close family, if it had been anyone else I wouldn't have gone. I think pick another day if at all possible and if not, accept that some people might not come.

I wouldn't plan a party on Mother's Day because I'd assume people would have other commitments.

I'd attend a kid's party on Mother's Day if I could juggle it with other plans.

Last year we had a bubbas 1st birthday party on Mothers Day and it was sooooooo annoying because it was meant to be my day. My first Mother's Day

I gave my day away to attend this party but was still annoyed. This year the parents are doing it the week after because they had a lot of people not turn up due to it being Mother's Day!

I couldn't decline as I am very close to them and I also didn't want DD missing out on such a fun day.
