    Default Overestimated income???

So my partner and I only JUST did our tax return for 12-13 (whoops) and I discovered that I overestimated our income by about $10000. I understand that centrelink give lump sum payments if this happens, just wondering if I have to apply for it or if they will automatically process it?

In my experience they do it automatically when they receive your tax return info

It is always automatically done. Once ATO is done it willbe sent to centrelink for reconciliation and you will receive the back payment for over estimating.
Lots of people do it on purpose so they get a decent return and tax time kind of like forced savings.

Okay thanks. We got our refunds a couple of days ago so hopefully it's not too far off...

If you don't hear from centrelink soon, take your notice of assessments in and they can fix it up on the spot.
