I think some people need to step out of their perfect little bubble for just a min and realise that not everyone lives the same in the reality as they do. Can you imagine if every drug taking parent or parent with unideal housing or alcoholics with children who were dirty and with Unbrushed hair ha their children taken off them? Well I can tell you now there will be many many children in care, and growing up in foster care can be far from a 'better life' . Maybe all those with their perfect little world that provide wonderfully an lovingly for their children should consider fostering.
Education and support is the way to go. Removal of children should be a last resort.

Which everyone has said? Perfect little world? actually I worked almost a decade in child protection and NGO's working with these kids and their families trying to make a difference to these children and their parents lives.

What was that about assumptions. Good lord. There are more than a few of us on our high horses.

Perfect little bubbles? Holy crapballs! What an assumption to make.

Nobody is denying that education and support is what is most important. There is zero doubt in my mind that DHS are involved in this case offering just that!

Maybe I've just missed where actual evidence was presented that the parents are drug users and that their children are at risk. The talk that the abduction could have been linked to drug debts did not come from the police as far as I know. It came from hearsay

Pegasus, do you really not understand that there would be DOCS involvement because of the way Chloe was taken, then the mess that occurred afterwards, such as a drunken Garth Campbell being arrested in the street while Chloe was missing? The Department would have been notified and they would have their own investigation running. It is simply the way that it works.

I wonder if the young mum on maternity leave charged with trafficking was known to docs? More serious evidence there than hearsay.
Docs are called in to asses the family /situation whenever a child is reported missing/injured - the police are required to notify them ASAP ( according to our friend who works for them )

He states he was concerned about the way Chloe was living, next minute he leaves her alone, in the dark, wandering the local showground. This man sounds like he may have some issues. I'm praying nothing else happened to her whilst he kidnapped her.

I'm finding the case quite hard to follow, it's very messy and confusing.
