I have a son, when we're out and he needs to use the toilet we go to the women's provided there aren't parents rooms. We have a daughter on the way, and I would expect that DP will take her into the male toilets if she needs to go and there aren't parents rooms. I don't use the disabled toilet unless necessary, as I don't see the need. I also really don't understand why people have such an issue with little girls going into a men's toilet? I assume these people would in turn not take a little boy into the women's toilet with them, on the off chance that the child gets a view of someone of the opposite gender using the toilet?

We don't have a daughter but I have no problem with DH taking his niece to the men's. What does confuse me though is the statement about men's cubicles not having doors. Do they really not have doors in the men's? All the men's toilets I've been in have them.

Why not the men's loo but just cover her eyes or carry her past (if she's only 3)the urinals so she can't see anything?

I wouldn't care if they used the ladies but I can see how others would be.

Do you have a son? Will you take him into the men's seeing as he will be the one using the toilet?

I have two sons. And that situation hasnt ever risen. But if it did, id take the older one (9) into the mens toilet, and the younger one into the womens. Because he wont hafto walk past naked flaps on his way to using the toilet in that one.

My parents divorced when I was young so I went lots of places with just dad. There were only a few times the need arose but he took me in the men's. There were no wangs on display just backs, you couldn't see anything at all.

I asked DH and he said no way he would walk into a woman's toilet with DD (she's old enough to go by herself anyway).
