Default DS tongue is very white

DS 9 weeks has a very white tongue, there is a thick layer on it.

He's always had a bit but this looks a lot more than usual. The MCHN said yesterday that it wasn't thrush and said t was ok.

Is it ok? I have no idea...

He does have a little cold at the moment, would that make it worse than normal?

I have vague memories of being worried that one of my babies had mouth thrush because of a white tongue and seeing a doctor and it ended up being just milk coating the tongue.

It was so long ago I don't remember how long it lasted or any other info..

sorry. Im not really much help.

Yeah it's just milk coating the tongue, my son had it, he was on formula though. It disappeared after a short while.

It can be either milk or thrush depending on symptoms.
Ds2's paediatrician said it was also a symptom of reflux which he then got diagnosed with (among other symptoms)
So if bubs has other refluxy symptoms maybe get checked for that.

If bubs has thrush symptoms then it's likely thrush

But if bubs has no other symptoms then it's likely just milk.
