    Default E-counselling: anyone done this?

I had a question from a student of mine about e-counselling. She wants to know how it works, is it successful and if there are negatives and positives for doing this type of on line counselling. I have googled but would like to hear any first hand experiences as I do not know anyone who has accessed it. Given that hubbers are often short of time yet savvy and would probably have some answers, I thought I would ask here. Any information would be great. TIA

I'm also interested in this. I'm someone who hates getting dressed and going out, it makes me anxious and I will often cancel my appointments. I'm more of a texter theses days and prefer to be able to type rather than speak. I'm also one who needs to talk when I'm ready and not when the appointment says to speak iykwim.

I work for an organisation who provides web counselling...it is a great medium for people with no other option...but...it really shouldn't be seen as an alternative to face to face counselling...it just doesn't command the same degree of involvement, togetherness and efficacy... sorry
