    Hi ladies,
    i just read the whole thread (incl 50 pages back when it was 34 YOs TTC!) so even though this is my first post, I bizarrely feel like I know you all! And so I have fingers crossed for everyone's success!

    As for me.. In Syd, turning 34 in a couple of months. Only off BC for about 5 weeks. I was on the pill since I was 19. The last 6 months of that was mini pill without a period (apparently quite common on mini pill). But no period = no idea what cD I'm on, or when due.

    Foolishly have been symptom watching but after a bit more reading starting to realise how far fetched it would be if I were already up duff. Especially since we only DTD about once a week if I'm lucky. But about 10 days ago really sore bbs (I've never had that in my life). Convinced myself I was "one of the v lucky ones" only to have 2 x negative hpts. (Side note, 60 odd pages of reading and I still don't know what the initials stand for - I know BFP = positive, BFN = negative, but what do the actual letters stand for?)

    anyway, latest is I've had a couple of days of pink spotting, though not letting myself get my hopes up this time. Will wait a while longer to see what happens (though I must admit I have the one last hpt from the 3 pack calling my name!)

    Sorry for the super long first post
    sending newby love to everyone x

    Hi and welcome! I'll add you to the front page shortly. Are you TTC #1? Don't feel bad about symptom spotting or succumbing to the call of the HPT!

    Abbreviations are (I think):

    BFP = Big Fat Positive
    BFN = Big Fat Negative
    TTC = Trying To Conceive
    BT = Blood Test
    EPU = Egg Pick Up
    FET = Frozen Embryo Transfer
    DH = Dear Husband (though I prefer Darling )
    DP = Dear Partner
    DS = Dear Son
    DD = Dear Daughter

    That's all I can think of for now - just ask if there are other ones still mystifying you. I know there's a thread somewhere on BH, but no idea where (and too lazy to search!).

    Good luck on your journey and I hope it's a short one for you!

    Hi AJsyd, welcome

    I was just having a giggle reading the abbreviations then because I remember when my DH looked over my shoulder at one stage and said "why are those women referring to their Husbands as a DH, that's a bit rude..." and, after much "what? What are you talking about's" I had to explain it meant Dear Husband, not **** Head. LOL. I nearly died laughing.

    Thanks lovely ladies for the welcome!

    Soo, BFN this morning. And only after I'd taken the test, realised AF has arrived. First one since coming off the pill so I suppose I should've grateful for that.

    i don't have any major health problems (that I'm aware of) and I'm very grateful for that, as I know many of you have suffered complications along the way. For me, one of the concerns is that DH occasionally does drugs & had a big night last night. I'm really disappointed as I know that technically means we shouldn't try for 3 months. (Please don't quote this as I'm super anxious about posting stuff and having anyone know who I am. I know that's silly but I'm new to this whole thing, and sharing stuff I haven't spoken about w anyone... even wondered if there is a way to change my name on here??)

    Oh AJ sorry about your BFN but it's a good sign your cycle is returning after BC. Yes your info about your DH would be ringing alarm bells for me. Not only the implications on TTC but if the behaviour would likely continue when you have a bub at home? We're here to support you x. Also, I don't think your username identifies you too much but you can PM a mod and I think they can change it for you if you are worried. X

    Lol @HillDweller, I can't type DH now without a little chuckle!
