    Default Toast as finger food

    So this might be a silly question but I have no idea.
    I am thinking of starting to give my almost 7 month old a bit of toast as finger food but I'm unsure if I should toast it or not? And i lf I should how much toasted? Any spread or just the bread?

    Do you think 7 months is too early for finger food? She is pretty good with those teething rusks and banana so I thought i would try something else.

    She will be fine with toast fingers. I just toasted as normal. Spread with a bit of avocado or even just Vegemite and tiny bit of butter

    ETA my dd loved it with mashed banana spread on top too

    Yep, she will be fine with toast.

    I give DS toast fingers for breakfast some mornings with either cream cheese / avocado / a bit of butter. On morning I had nothing else to put on there so I put some jam. He went crazy trying to suck it all off!!

    At that age I also gave DS omelette cut into strips or fruit pancakes cut into strips as well for breakfast.

    I've given DD loads of finger foods since 6 months. She loves French Toast and Avocado on Toast ( though really she just licks the avocado off haha). I usually cut into strips or squares, but lately I've just given her the toast uncut and she rips it up and chews on it

    I just make a fluffy pancake mixture and add sliced banana/ grated apple / berries and they cook in with the mixture. They are really yummy!

    A super easy, healthy baby / toddler pancake recipe is:
    1 cup wholemeal flour
    1 egg
    1 cup milk / formula
    1 mashed banana

    Just mix it all together and cook as normal. I've also added blueberries, or replaced the banana with about 1/2 cup of apple purée and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
