Wow it sounds stressful at times with the bf and settling although it seems you ladies are doing a great job.

Good luck Ann for today and fingers crossed for you nirok for a birth any day.

AFM : I'm 34w +1 and I have 2 more days at work then I'm of maternity leave cannot wait.
I saw OBs today and he asked me how I want to give birth either natural/induction at 39 weeks or have a c section and I'm not sure. Personally if he told me I had to have a c section I would as it would be for the best and wouldn't care and go with the flow as long as I had a healthy happy baby. OBS said he would go for c section as I have a BMI over 30 plus a few other reasons and said even if I give birth naturally I would still have a 50% chance of it ending up in a c section but is leaving the choice to me.

so this is what I ask for you ladies what would you do and for those that have had natural would you have changed your minds

ABH our friends little girl has one and she doesn't seem to notice it anymore. I think they have 6months for her hips but it's both and she was a planned csection. Don't beat yourself up as you have no control on how they sit and grow inside and it's better your into it now so it's not an issue or as much of an issue later.
    Hugs

ABH, I don't post on here much but follow-on religiously. My nephew was in the brace for the first 6 weeks and he's now a perfectly happy, healthy, active 8 year old. I am interested that they have said that being breech has caused it. I'm currently 36+4 and my baby is in the frank breech position so at this stage we're booked in for a c section on the 4th June.

They thought my bub might need to be in a hip brace as she was frank breech as well, but luckily an ultrasound showed everything was fine. It is better to have a brace sooner, rather than when they start growing and developing.

Spidery, even though I was ok with having a c-section because I really didn't have much choice, if I'd had the chance to try naturally to start with I would have welcomed it just to have the experience!

I'm currently trying out a supplemental feeding system which is pretty good. There's a container with formula hanging around my neck, and a thin tube taped to my breast so when bub sucks she's getting both formula and breastmilk at the same time. Annabel seems to be enjoying it so far and hopefully because she's actively sucking at the breast longer it will help to keep stimulating my supply

Hi Spidery, I have had 2 c sections and they are perfectly fine ways to have a baby, but if given the choice for my first baby I would wait until I was term to see if I went into natural labour before scheduling a section.

I wouldn't opt for an induction but haven't had one so not speaking from experience.

ETA - I would be putting it back on your OB, they are the professional with the years of training and experience!! If they see a compelling reason for a particular course if action other than 'let nature do it's thing' then they should recommend it. It ****ed me off when these highly paid professionals put the decision making back on us. That's what we paid them for!!!

Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences regarding sleeping. Im getting some good tips.
ABH we are yet to have the ultra sound for hip dysplasia.
STC my baby was born frank breech. I can put up a picture if you like of how she came out.

I wouldnt like to give birth vaginally to a frank breech baby dont think it would be pleasant.

Thanks arlais and bedlover. Arlais I thought about waiting for natural labour but if it does not come before 39 weeks my obs induces I don't like the sound of induction from people on here and others induction seem messy, long and end up in c sections in the end. Bedlover I understand yeas we pay them for their specialist care. His opinion is go c section but said the decision is up to me

Arlais sounds like you have some high tech feeding going on. I've heard of those tubes but wondered how they would work. Sounds like it's working great. Hope they increase your supply.

Spidery I was induced because I was IVF and because bubs was on the large side. Mainly IVF though. My BMI is also over 35. Apparently my hospital thinks it's best to get the baby out before the placenta dies and while mum and baby are doing well seeing as IVF people know their exact due date. My body wasn't ready for it and it ended up as a c-section after running through every induction option. If I had my time again I would still do things the same way as I'm not enjoying the recovery time and once you've had one c-section it's likely more will follow. Having said that, you sound like you are quite okay with having the c-section first up. If that's the case I would miss the hours of induced labour! It's not fun. I was pretty determined to try for natural but if you aren't fussed either way I'd recommend going along with your ob's recommendations. My hospital wanted me to do 'trial by labour' as it was better to birth naturally if possible and I trusted their advice. Hopefully your ob is also looking out for your best interests.

Spidery-My ob left the decision to me so I asked him what he would do if it was his wife and baby and went with that answer.
