Jay-sounds like you had an amazing baby shower. I freaking love the cake!

Abh-I had everything I needed. As long as you have pads and Lansinoh you should be ok. And the suggestion of a dressing gown is a great idea.

Ann-I had a great experience at the Mater. I was on level 10 and the nurse are great. I found the younger ones the best as they give the advice but don't make you feel like you are doing anything wrong. Some of the older ones were a little on the mean side (but not horrible).

Thank you so much for all your support ladies. It really was a hard decision to make (with a lot of tears) but I'm not looking back. They tell you its going to be hard but no one ever says just how hard. I got me a small Avent Comfort Electric pump today which happened to be our first outing. Took so long to get ready, haha. I managed to get 100ml first go and feel so much lighter. I did manage one feed today, 30 min each side then 50ml of formula so she clearly isn't getting much from me. I'm going to attemp to feed a couple of times a day because I really do enjoy it but the pump is going to make things so much easier. Once I've healed I'll head back to the LC for advice but for now my priority is to have a happy baby and not be in pain.

Yes I definitely need to rest as I have been go go everyday for two weeks! Iam so out of breath! Dh put together bassinette and pram and shelves yest and change table today! Partially packed my hosp bag and need to stock take all the baby shopping ( bought tooooo much!) and start the washing process ! Oh and I also stumbled across baby wipes warmer at bubs and grubs (Morningside) very reasonably priced at around $40 (their online price).

Ngaiz just wondering is there a blow dryer in the room ? Also not that it matters but just curious did you get your menu card that you ticked off or do you go to the buffet trolley - the tour lady had me a bit confused !

my Ob gave me a little tip to wax rather than shave to prevent stubble growth under the dressing tape - my OB is my beauty therapist now!!

Ladies at what point did you start taking the movicol? A day before...??

Ngaiz I feel your bf pain. Sounds like you are at peace with the decision you have made. I think we put more pressure on ourselves more than anyone else to keep persisting when it is so hard. I have been in tears a number of times over it. I am expressing and topping up with a bottle with formula ATM. My supply seems to have dried up with my mastitis so starting fenugreek tom. Hopefully that works as want to keep trying to give breastmilk. Honestly my bubs seems to prefer bottle to breast and we both cry less this way

Ann you sound so busy! I get you have heaps to do but try not to overdo it. You don't want to run yourself into the ground. Take care of yourself.

Jay your baby shower sounds great. Glad you had fun.

ABH this May sound silly but a warm hoodie was the best thing I had. Cause you are sitting up in bed I didn't use a dressing gown but a hoodie was great. Second the nipple cream- essential.

bubs and I had our first big outing today and I packed one of everything- my bag was ridiculous! We went to a big shopping centre with my mum and I must say the parent rooms are the bees knees. Good first experience. Have any other ladies been a bit housebound? I hesitate to do more than go shopping for groceries around the corner. We haven't visited anyone yet either. My DHs mum keeps inviting us around but I'm not ready yet. Is this normal?

I didn't start until day 2 after bub and that was too late. I would start the day before the op as for me it took about 24-36 hrs to work.

Slowly getting there with setting up and getting things ready. Finally have the cot set and ready to go.

The baby's bag for hospital is almost completely packed. Haven't started on mine yet though, so I really have to get moving with that.

    Cute cot catlover.

So I've learnt a few things these last couple of days...
    * around 3 weeks there's another growth spurt...almost had a break down yesterday (and the last 2 nights) when Abi wouldn't go down, wouldn't stop feeding and or crying. Plus it was the first day DH went back to work so was feeling very incompetent.

    * around 3 weeks you get the hormonal "3week blues" according to the nurse who visited today.

So my tears and Abigail's tears are all normal and expected. Sometimes it helps to know you're on track so that you don't start blaming yourself for anything...as is natural after sleep deprivation.

Today is so much better already. Feel like I can exhale.

Sorry have a few posts to go back and read. Looking forward to more babies xxxx
