Hey JJ when the pre admission midwife was talking to me she said they will do skin to skin eventhough c section - I guess OBs going to be doing his thing while we are busy admiring and cuddling new baby !

Ngaiz this is definitely not helpful info for us here now but straight after my delivery before being pushed off to recovery I had a pad stuck on disposal undies that the nurses wld check regularly and replace pads they also put an ice pack inside a glove and put it in my undies ! While under influence of epi they would press around my bladder for me to pee -had a catheter on but once effect was over on the first day they sprayed warm water to stimulate me to pee on the bed pan! I too have wondered what do they do here.

There's one thing that iam worried about - nearly everyone who had a c section mentioned alot of pain around c section area I think once the effect of spinal block was over - dont they give you enough pain killers to not feel pain and be comfortable ??

Thanks for all the info Panda. You sound great.

My hospital doesn't like IVF patients going over their due date plus I have a large baby on board (apparently) so we are having an induction next Mon 28 April. My due date and my 13th Wedding Anniversary! Not looking forward to the birth at all but excited that I will meet my baby within a week. Sounds like there will be a few new bubs next week!!

Ann-we (pharmacy) supply a truckload of Oxycodone to the mothers wards so just make sure your Ob charts it for you so you have the option. This is what I'll be doing.

Hi girls. Yesterday I did have a lot of pain around the c section area. My advice is to make sure you keep taking the pain relief. I don't know why the pain started seeping through the medication I had taken. Then both last night and this morning I nearly threw up. We worked out it was the neurofen. I'm feeling so much better tonight and am walking around, yay!
the nurses placed those big maternity pads in between my legs with a flat plastic one underneath me. And just checked them regularly. I had the catheter taken out this morning.

Just popping in to report that Annabel is now about 200g above her birth weight, so with the formula top ups she's had a massive gain in just over a week

Will try to get on to the computer soon and do a proper catch up with where every is at.
