Good news Arlias that Annabel has put on weight and come home from hospital. Your feeding schedule is full on. Hope that this lets up soon with Annabel stacking on the weight.
Vertias sorry to hear that you are still suffering. Hope your DP is giving you lots of support.
Ngaiz how are you going with your PE? Any news on your tests?
Catlover what a wonderful surprise. Hope you had a lovely time.
It's a dilemma JJ when to request the c section for. Sounds like you got heaps done on the weekend.
I am off to a lactation consultant today to try and fix my bf issues and try and make sure he his feeding well and often. My DH was so awesome last night and let me sleep for 4 hours straight! I feel so rested today.

congrats Veritas welcome baby girl(11-4 was Erin's due date)

glad to hear Annabel has put on weight and you are both home Arlias

We didn't get any damage from the cyclone, just lost power for 28hrs and were flooded in for 2 days. Erin slept thru most of it, totally unaware

Had 2nd midwife visit today. All great! Erin has put on 190g since last week, she now weighs 2520g. I ended up buying some formula and have given her 3 feeds of it over the week. Good thing we did as dh took over one night and I hadn't expressed enough to get thru. My flow isn't quite keeping up with her increased appetite so might need to see gp for prescription. Got cranky with midwife, finding her forgetful and over-opinionated. Asked a question about vaccinations and she started lecturing me on reading info that isn't study-based. Told her off for assuming that I only read rubbish.

Oops, Erin is fussing, will post more later

Hi ladies, hope everyone is doing well. Just popping my head in to say Annabel has put on more weight! She's still 350g under her birth weight, but it's better than her discharge weight and obviously heading in the right direction with the top up feeds, so I'm very relieved

Ann my doctor never mentioned using a drain when he went through the c section procedure. He did say that at my hospital they will will be getting me on my feet around 4pm (procedure at 11am). Which makes me think he probably doesn't use a drain?
JJ not sure what to do about your dilemma. But it is something definitely to consider.
To the girls breast feeding I've been told by my acupuncturist to start stimulating my breasts this Wednesday with a breast pump, ready for the birth on Monday. Is this necessary? She said it takes longer for the milk to come in after a csection. I feel a bit funny starting this already.

Panda I had a C section with DS and didn't do anything before hand and had so much milk it was ridiculous.

I had to express on the 4th day (I think) and they said that once the milk stopped to turn the machine off and that I should have about 20mls total (memory is a bit rusty) - well I overflowed both 50 ml cups cause it just kept on coming!!

I am likely to end up with a c section again next week and won't be doing anything like this. I don't like to mess with these things - if you needed to do it I am sure the midwives and OBs would be telling the c section ladies to get onto it. Plus nipple stimulation can bring on labour which you might not want if your c section is for a reason.

Amps glad to hear you are safe and sound and Erin wasn't bothered at all. Hope you have lots of success with the feeding settling down.

Arlais glad Annabel is heading in the right direction!

I am now 38 weeks so would be very happy for things to move along from now. The estimated weight is already 4.2kg as of last Fri (9lb 2oz) so I'm hoping that's a bit out! Poor bubs has a large abdominal circumference (like his or her Mum) so I'm hoping that measurement is artificially inflating the figure a bit.

Looking forward to someone going into labour without an induction or c-section and hearing your experience!

    He is gorgeous Manchesterlass!

I've had a stressful day with worry about Matthew's feeding and weight. He has been feeding pretty much non stop but not having a lot of urine output and being unsettled. So, they are assuming he's not getting much milk due to my supply. I've expressed to try and up supply and see how much milk I've got. We were going to top up with formula but after weighing him, he's actually put on 80g since Sat night so def under the 10% loss at the moment. Just monitoring for now but I'm really hoping for some sleep tonight. Going home tomorrow.
