Default What does the baby kicking feel like?

This is my first pregnancy. I am between 11 and 12 weeks, I've had. 2 ultrasound and both came up with different dates. I'm already showing a heap and can no longer hide my tummy.

Yesterday at work whilst I was sitting at my desk I felt a very weird sensation in my lower stomach. Wasn't cramps, wasn't gas, wasn't stomach gurgles. Was almost like a muscle twitch or something's. It kept happening for about an hour on and off.

Has anyone felt this before? I rang my doctor and she said it could be gas. Seriously was not gas, I've got bad ibs so I've had every weird tummy sensation before but this I have never felt.

Like having gas going through your system to start off with - then like there is something inside of you moving about...funnily enough. Depends which stage of pregnancy and where placenta is and whether bubs is a mover as to how much you will feel.

That early in a first pregnancy I wouldn't think it likely that you're feeling kicks, but I guess it's possible. It's also possible that what you're feeling is actually some of the stretching sensations as your uterus grows and the ligaments relax. If it is baby moving, you'll probably start feeling it more and more.

For my first pregnancy I felt her for the first time at 16 weeks and it was like a 'tap'. Imaging tapping your finger on your tummy, it felt like that but from the inside.

Currently this baby's kicks feel like I'm being punched in the cervix!

For me first movements in my first pregnancy felt a bit like bubbles popping - I had an anterior placenta and felt first movements around 17 weeks. A bit later it felt like tapping or a rythmic 'pulse'. I didn't fell actual kicks until much later on. I would be surprised if what you are feeling is movements that early (of course it could be), but I agree with above poster it kind of sounds more like things stretching. I felt heaps of stretching/ slight cramping sensations in my first trimester with both pregs.

Can't remember with my first but this is my second and up until now I couldn't tell if what I felt was gas or baby... if you fluff soon after you feel it then it is, of course, gas.

Now, just the last few days, it's definitely baby. It's a bump/kick that someone else can feel if they have their hand on my tummy. I'm 5 months (can't keep track of weeks).

The most accurate description I could give for early kicks is when you're fishing and the fish is nibbling/tugging at the bait

Im not sure but I asked the specialist who did my 12 wk scan and he said its impossible to feel baby that early. So did my ob.

Im nearly 20 wks now and yet to feel movement. My ob and the specialist said anywhere around 18 wks is normal to start feeling slight movements.

Im guessing like the others its more likely to be stretching

My first feeling felt like butterfly wings from the inside. Or like a PPer said - little bubbles popping on the inside of your skin. From memory it was at about 20weeks.

I've had that muscle twitch sensation at about 11wks, the same feeling as an eye twitch. Went on for hours and drove me nuts! I was told it is just muscles stretching and whilst it may be possible for some ladies to feeling flutters that early, the twitching feeling I had was too strong and continuous for bub at that size (just my experience though)

My first feeling of movement with dd felt like I had a mild case of butterflies, very different to the strong twitches
