It's totally between you and your husband. But I just wanted to say that even if your MIL looked after your DD while you worked, you are still raising your DD!

Uh, if my DH wrote me an email like that I would completely lose the plot at him. That is just disgraceful.

His job sounds pretty awful. I don't you should be so flippant about it. Most people find doing nothing for hours on end excruciating (and I'm sure he does more than you think anyway).

Would you working mean he could get a new job? That would be a deal breaker for me. If he didn't plan on changing jobs then I don't see any point in you finding work, and agree it would be tough when he is away.

I don't think your attitude is fair either though. Someone being a SAHP needs to be a joint decision. It a huge parenting and lifestyle decision.

I earn a decent salary and I would be mighty annoyed if my DH all of a sudden decided he didn't want to work any more so wouldn't bother and would stay home with DS.

His email was extremely rude and my DH would never write something so disrespectful - I would be furious about that.

It doesn't matter what job your husband has or how much he earns, there is NO way he should be talking to his wife like that. Ever.

I'd be packing my bags. I don't say things like that lightly, but if this is his general attitude, he can stick it up his a&$
