    Default Tasting blood

    Hi ladies,

I have been tasting blood in my mouth. I havent had a nose bleed or gums bleed. I am on iron tablets. Any ideas on what it could be? Its making me feel a little sick.

Do you have bleeding gums? I believe they are common in pregnancy. If you floss do they bleed? Sorry I don't know if thats any help but it's worth checking. If flossing doesn't make them bleed, then I'd call your local 24 hour nursing service and ask them. If it's enough to make you feel sick then it's worth following up I think. Hope you feel better soon

Edit: sorry I just noticed you said your gums aren't bleeding, my apologies

Your sinuses can be hyper sensitive when you're pregnant, so maybe you're getting some post nasal drip/mucous which has some blood in it when you sleep etc.

Could also be your gums and or teeth due to the extra blood flow.

Or then again it could be the iron tablets? What kind are you taking? Can you call the chemist where you bought them and ask their opinion?

My iron tabs do this too. You eventually get used to it. I use mouthwash throughout the day if its bad, which I normally don't do.
