I totally get what you are saying - I just don't think it particularly belongs in this thread though, this thread is about racism, you wanting to live in a low crime area is not racism.

I'm not sure anyone would actually choose to live in the type of suburb you described? Sounds horrifying!

It's like saying that teenage pregnancies are more prevalent in lower socio economic areas - I'm not saying that rich teenage girls don't ever get pregnant, but it's just a fact that it happens more in the poorer areas for a variety of different reasons. I am baffled how anyone even misinterpreted me in the first place, was just trying to further what @ZAK was saying about how it's not race that is even a consideration or concern for where I live, but I agree that it's more important to me to live in an area with similar thinking people. Family orientated hard working people.

Here I lived in a housing area that was very culturally diverse everyone was lovely. But the police fhad to drive down the street numerous times a day to keep the piece with the aussies!!! We moved it was a pretty dangerous area. We now live in a middle class neighbourhood I'm pretty sure we are the poorest people here haha everyone is so nice but it's all white and very boring I kind of miss seeing the Samoan kids walking past at 6 every night lol

I feel your pain! We have and Indian family on one side and an African family on the other side. Their delicious dinner smells wafting through our air con vents is torture!

I think it would have made sense if the woman had said it can be a bit isolating being the ONLY white Australian person living in a suburb - I think that would make sense, like being the only non-English person living in an English-speaking place. But yeah... raicst.
