    Default ergo carrier- infant insert

I have an ergo baby carrier with infant insert. My son is 5th els old and my question is, how do I know when baby has grown out of the Insert?
I put him in the carrier the other day and because he is young, his head flops forward towards my chest. The insert keeps him quite upright. Is this normal or do I not have him in the insert Properly? Also are his legs meant to be tucked in or hanging out as though he is Sitting?

It goes on weight I think it's 3.5kg in the insert?

When I stopped using the insert I still kept DD in the "frog leg" position for a while until her legs could stick out comfortably, I just put a folded wrap at the bottom of the carrier.

I pulled the cushion out of the infant insert and used it on its own for a while.

Thanks - should his head be close to my Chest? Perhaps I don't have it tight enough....

My DDs head sits really close to my chest, I find I have to have the top shoulder straps pulled pretty tight!

I think it's 4.5kg in the insert. I was going to buy one before dd was born and I remember thinking 'lucky I didn't!' the other day when I used the ergo for the first time. My dd was born just over 5kg. She is still a little too small to sit in it properly though so I roll up a wrap and tuck that down so she is sitting on it when I put her in. This boosts her up enough so her legs are out comfortably. Her head sits close to my chest but not firmly on it. I pull it tight across the back so her chest is firm. I find this stops her head from flopping around.
