Default Damn the teachers and their strike!!!

    Im so angry right now.....

A note was sent homw from school yesterday saying our school was NOT involved in the strike but when i arrive at school this morn we are met with locked gates and no teachers. I got told that 'half the teachers are away and they will provide supervision for the children but there is no classes'.

    Im so angry....

I mean really what have these teachers got to strike about anyway....12 weeks holiday a year and a 8-4 job WTF!!!!

DD was so upset cos she has news today and was so excited about going to school today...dont they realise the impact this sh!t has on the children????!!!!

I think they are actually striking because of the government cuts to education , among them massive cuts to education assistants. This means that if your child is a special needs child they may lose or have lost their education assisistant. This means that the teacher has to spend a lot more time with that child meaning that the remainder get less assisiatnce.

I autually get the day off today as mum is in Bali and I have no one to care for him as my friends work so it's smiles all round here!

I was not aware of the strikes but you are out of your freaking mind if you think teachers have it easy! 8-4 my back side!!! The amount of prep my husband does at home, staying back to help student, after hours events/ extra curricular work, before and after school meetings, creating assessment, marking assessment plus this week he is gone for 3 days on the school camp. Teachers earn every damn second of their holidays. What an insult. How dare you.

Hahahaha teachers have it soooo easy

If you actually read up on why they are striking you would understand it's a big deal but hey if you don't care about your child's future education ...... Just keeping have that attitude

Is this a serious post, OP? If so... the mind boggles and I feel sorry for teachers who have to deal with parents with such views.

My lovely teacher friend spends hours after work marking and prepping activities for the next day. Her weekends and most of her holidays are spent doing the same thing on top of meetings and extra curricular stuff. She loves her kids and all the extra things she has to do but I can imagine she would be pretty ****ty if she was told she has it easy!

    Wait what?!

You really think teachers have it easy? You really believe their jobs are just from 8-4?! You really believe that in that 12 weeks they do nothing teacher related?

    Wow.. Just wow 😶

This is the reason WHY they are striking. For YOUR children. We want better learning conditions for students. Full stop. End of story. As a parent, surely you would want the same thing?

As for the insulting remark on our hours, I can tell you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. So I'm just going to leave it at that.

THAT ^ should be making you angry.
