    Default Bleeding at 8 weeks!!

    Hi ladies.
After 8 cycles of ivf we r 8 weeks pregnant. Last Thursday I had a massive bleed followed by 4 days of mild brown spotting. Then this morning another bleed this time with clots. Each time we have gone straight to ER or Ob and scan has shown strong heartbeat and looking normal. I am absolutely terrified, as naturally Dr can't say what will happen! Please advise on dealing with this journey would b amazing. I feel
Like I'm going crazy! And the looked of being terrified on my husbands face breaks my heart!

Gstef, bleeding can be really common in pregnancy and it's great news that there is a strong heartbeat and sac is in the right place. Have they been able to visualise a haematoma or the source of the bleeding on the scan?

I had a lot of spotting early in my pregnancy and a very scary bright red bleed at 6 weeks which was caused by a haematoma. The result of that pregnancy is now my beautiful 9 month old DD Bleeding is also more common if you've previously had uterine trauma eg. scarring in the uterus. I hope yours also turns out to be just one of those things. Good luck and keep us posted

Hi! No haven't seen anything that can account for the bleeding. Sorry for the too much info but constantly feel like everything is gonna fall out and that I'm wet with blood. It's making me crazy!

GStef do you have an OB or are you going public? If you have an OB make sure you go and see them. They are so much more thorough than the hospital in working out what's wrong. I wouldn't be able to cope with pregnancy without mine. I had some bleeding around 9 weeks, went to hospital and they had no idea what was wrong. Next day saw my OB and he straight away told me that my placenta was low lying and rubbing on my cervix which was causing the problems. He said it was no threat to the baby at all. If I hadn't have seen him I would've continued to worry. Anyway the point of this novel is if you can please go and see your OB for some piece of mind. Wishing you all the best

GStef, I had 5 days of bleeding in weeks 10 and 11. I was terrified too but it was all due to a low lying placenta which moved up out of the way. DD is now 5 months!
Be reassured in the fact that you saw a lovely strong HB.
And don't be afraid to go back to the hospital or your doctor if you have more bleeding or are concerned. It's better you get some relief from another scan than stressing out at home.

I had lots of bright red blood at 9 and 13 weeks, thought I was having a miscarriage. But currently feeding the 8 month old baby that resulted from that pregnancy.

my friend who did ivf as well had a lot of bleeding this pg..at 5 wks, on and off, then again more at 6-7wks and then again red fresh blood at 8wks..all normal she is now 14 wks, all the 12wk NT testing was good and low risk. they never found the cause of the bleeding either. if the scans and baby size and HB are good then fingers crossed all should be ok.
