Winter could come and the white walkers start moving south/getting past the wall- that'd be the next logical step for that story- they start affecting everyone else..

I believe that's the part everyone's waiting for in the next book as well- pretty sure George was saying something along the lines of "why are you all so keen for the next book? Winter comes, everyone is going to get ****ed up!" (Maybe he didn't say it in those words- this was just how it was relayed to me lol)

And as hard as it is to see big characters go- I think to me that is a big part of the appeal to GOT- unlike any other show/movie I've seen, no one is favouritised for plot and people who may have been destined for great things can still be stopped in their tracks. That's extremely unique and in a way much closer to realism than most stories!

I saw it coming- He was looking at the big picture sure- but by doing so and taking command over something that held such passionate divided opinion, he wasn't noticing the smaller problems- the people he was slowly stepping on and the building resentment against him- he turned a blind eye instead of addressing that problem. We all know how that ends in this show :P

I don't think he's actually dead.... I think the fire lady resurrects him that's my theory 😜

I didn't find it full on tbh! Was still good though

That's my theory too! Then he's released from his vow to the nights watch as well - because death releases you.

Note - all this is just a theory, I don't actually know! So it's not a spoiler!!

DH pointed out that she just interprets the visions and she might have gotten it wrong. When she heard the news about the desertion, she got a look like she'd realised her mistake. He also pointed out that she's a Red Priest and they've been known to bring people back from the dead if you think about where she was seen last.

Now I'm cranky at DH because I have to wait a year in hope that might happen and I know it probably won't!

Book readers - I don't want to read all the books, but I would like to read the most recent one. If I were to read just the most recent book having only watched the series and not read the previous books, will I be able to follow it properly or would it be stupid?

I read this theory today. Makes sense. Plus, there were so many vague references to his parentage in the first series which makes me think, either Mr Martin is having a laugh or there's something bigger planned for Jon Snow. Looking forward to seeing what becomes of Bran too. Was anyone else wishing Ramsay would meet a grisly end? Was slightly disappointed, really wanted him to get f'd up 😀

Hmm. Good question. I read the books ages ago so my memory has become a little fuzzy. But I can still yes, I think it will be difficult to follow, because the TV series has changed some of the characters storylines completely. So if you read it hoping to find out what happens to those particular characters, you will never know because it's different IYKWIM.

DH and I were speculating on this possibility too

Eta: personally I'm not looking forward to the bran storyline coming back. I found the whole thing a bit silly and dull tbh. I know I'm probably in the minority with that.

DF and I thought the episode was really predictable. I'm not up to this book so didn't know where it was going but we both guessed for a lot of things.
