Just watched and I felt like it was just a filler episode.

After such a pinnacle episode they could only reset the build up to the next event!

I agree...this episode was s^&t in comparison to the wedding. Filler is a good way to describe it. Seems the Cersei is still the Queen after all....

I really like the filler episodes. If it was all like the last episode it wouldn't be a surprise when something does happen. Also I always like when I get to see more of Arya, Dany, Tyrion and Jon!

    Only 7 more episodes

While the main purpose of this episode was clearly to set the scene for conflicts and developments to come, I don't think "filler" is an accurate term. This series does not waste time on superflous vignettes, and there were plenty of interesting, and shocking, things happening.

What I haven't figured out is the future role of Sam and Gilly. This is obviously going somewhere (or they wouldn't have wasted the screentime), but where?

This episode may have seemed like "filler" but there was a lot in there that in future episodes (seasons even) you will see they were the beginnings of much bigger things. These seem bitsy on TV of course, whereas the books went into much greater detail so it makes somewhat more sense. Although George R R Martin needs to finish writing the books so we can see how some of these things pan out...

I don't disagree that they are important to future episodes but it was a filler in that it was filling out the story line. They are a part of every story not good or bad.
