This is my 7th cycle, but its only my 4th actual transfer. If its a negative I will be doing my last FET immediately and then its the end of the road for me. After that I may consider donor eggs, but the cost is just ridiculous at $15,000 out of pocket. I know what you mean about the depression, its a fine tightrope we are walking during this process, slight highs, and massive lows. I'm going to hit the wall if this one and the next are both negative, I can see it coming a mile away, but still keeping positive - for the moment. I've got my fingers crossed for you too

well hopefully you won't be needing any donor eggs and this is it! Yes, fine tight rope hey! What is interesting is that i can accept and process if we aren't going to be parents, that will be hard but i would get there. It's the constantly trying to achieve a goal and failing...i think that is how i end up getting exhausted...hope vs realism and the high and low. I read some research last night in trying to understand my head space and it was saying that depression and ivf are close companions and it's usually a case of " not will you suffer depression and or anxiety but when"...made me take note to be extra careful!

Hoping for some advice from those who've been there.....
I'm On my first IVF cycle and only have two large follicles......(some little ones)

Is it worth going through EPU or should I just convert to an IUI cycle?
    Any thoughts welcome!

My thoughts are that EPU is quite a big deal and not worth it for just 2 eggs.

(Sorry have had a break from BH for a month, while I got my head around things......I'll catch up with everyone's news now!)

Hi everyone had my EPU today and got 9 eggs which is about par for me. They said three might be immature so I'll see how they fertilise tomorrow. Had absolutely no pain afterwards which was a first.

Hi @OIC yes, I guess it depends on how far in you are, you'd probably get more follies growing. I haven't done an IUI though.

@leyshoja & @Blossom I hope you have access to counselors if need be? I got to the point of needing one at my fourth cycle but fell pregnant before I went.

I've been reading more egg donor stories on the IVF over 40 thread and they sound so happy to have finally made it. Greece and south africa seem to be popular destinations.

    good luck today @kate124

    and good luck everyone else!

    @leyshoja fingers crossed for you.

I'm really anxious about my EPU this cycle - its on Monday i think.
I didnt have any embryos make it last time so hoping all the supplements and acupuncture help!
Just getting to the transfer is hard let alone a BFP.

Have a lot of friends having babies at the moment which im finding makes me really sad - i feel bad about that too.

Wow, 9! Glad you're pain free! Hope lots fertilise!

If I were to go ahead EPU would be Friday, so no chance of the smaller ones catching up. I got two follies for my last IUI cycle so this seems like the same. Maybe the orgalutran was too late and the dominant follies had already stopped the rest from growing?

Yep, sounds like it's not worth it for just two! I'll hold out for nine!!!!

    Good luck to everyone!

hi Aimee, does your Fs grow them to day 5? If that's the case can you ask for a day 2 or 3 transfer. There's a lot of mixed and differing opinions about when to transfer but maybe it's worth discussing with fs? Our Fs only does day 2/3 and day 5 at request because of his belief that they are better to be back in asap. It's a nerve wracking time isn't it, made harder when friends get Utd!

    Hey ladies,
This is my first post but I have been reading the forums for a while now.
Have been TTC since Oct 12. Started IVF this month and I am on day 5 of my cycle. Three injections in with Gonal F 125, so far its not as bad as I feared!
Just wanted to join in with this group! Hope that's ok.
