    Default Abbott's maternity leave?

Can someone please tell me what's happening with the crazy paid maternity leave scheme that Abbott's proposing?? Is it going to actually happen? I know the proposed start date is July 2015. When will we know for sure if it's definitely going ahead or not??

It's going to be a major influencing factor for TTC for us, as unromantic as that is!

It hasn't been approved yet, it's unlikely it would go through both houses.

We will find out in May when the budget is announced but I would be amazed if it went through.

The news items I've been able to find still seem to imply that some form of his idea will go through, perhaps capped at a salary of 100,000 or something... is that not true?

Thanks for letting me know we should find out in May, that's helpful!

I'd be surprised of it passes the senate.

The proposed scheme would be capped at $150K per annul so the max anyone would receive would be $75k

What is his new proposal? I haven't heard anything about it. I live in a bubble where I can't even watch the news as peppa pig is constantly on...

When you said you'd be amazed if it went through - do you mean AT ALL? Or without this cap?
